The Director, Roberto Benetello says, “It was always on the cards that Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake were to return to Italy to get married. They met at Beverley Mitchell’s wedding (where Biel was bridesmaid) back in 2008. In fact Anna who is part of our team here at BestWeddingAway.co.uk, organized the ceremony for Beverley Mitchell so she had the pleasure of meeting Biel right when the now happily married couple first met”.
The location Borgo Egnazia located in Puglia is well known to Bestweddingaway. It’s easy to see why Justin and Jessica chose Puglia, laid-back, romantic and an amazing coastline with sparkling azure waters.
The location that Jessica Biel and her beaux chose is a perfect reflection of Puglia; stone brickwork, traditional Italian furnishings, olive trees, Jasmine and lemon trees. However, don’t be fooled by this laid-back, rustic country look, Borgo Egnazia is pure 5 star luxury. Bestweddingaway can organise at this location symbolic and Protestant ceremonies, cocktail events and of course a lavish reception in the ‘Borgo’, which is the Italian word for hamlet.
Biel and Timberlake would have thought of every detail to make their guests feel quite at home. Each guest would have had their own traditional villa and complete privacy rather than in an intrusive, overpowering hotel.
Each villa, of which there are 28 have their own swimming pools. It’s likely that Biel would have taken advantage of the resorts 5 star spa facilities in the run up to the big day. Other activities to keep the guests busy include cooking classes, tennis courts and golf.
On Wednesday night the celebrations kicked off with family and friends down by the sea where the Borgo’s very own private beach had a remarkable firework display. Up until the wedding day itself, which took place, last Friday, guests got to sample the local wines and experience some of Italy’s best food at the Borgo’s various restaurants and bars. Security at the Borgo was tight with even staff not being allowed to bring mobile phones onto the property, and press and media were kept away. It’s reported the couple entertained their guests with a welcome party, an explosive firework display on the beach, a picnic and a wine and cheese tasting! Musicians at the wedding wore traditional dress and played traditional music to give their international guests a good feel for local, traditional culture.
Benetello says, “When many people think luxury in Italy they imagine great Palazzos in Venice and lakeside villas in Lake Como. The fact that Biel and Timberlake went further south in an area of Italy which is less known shows that they wanted something really special, private and completely different to where their guests would have been before. We here at BestWeddingAway are finding that couples like Justin and Jessica are asking more and more to have a week or weekend of wedding celebrations. Couples don’t just celebrate the wedding on the big day itself, often we organise welcome cocktail parties, pizza parties, wine tours, cooking classes and boat trips (for our lake and coastal locations). Couples choosing to go to Italy are looking to make their wedding a full on experience of Italian culture, Italian scenery and Italian traditions and this has been perfectly reflected in the week celebrations the celebrity couple have chosen.”
